RE: Winter Bushcraft in Dalian China Among Old Wartime Japanese Trenches, Foraging Goats and Sunset
Great post! You are right about the campfire - it is so relaxing to sit and feel the heat, smell the smoke, watch the flames and sparks. I LOVE to camp. And you are also right that food seems to taste better cooked over a fire. I like to cook on our wood-burning stove. Even simple things like pancakes seem to taste better! Were you nervous at all about camping in a foreign country? I didn't know how the locals would feel about it.
I would but haven't yet. My friend does it all the time in the hills scattered in the city. Thing Chinese people mostly keep to themselves and the last thing they want to do is commit a crime against a westerner. For some reason its very taboo.
Scam and hustle you to make more money is fair game though
Wow!
