Meet Bella and her baby brother Mr Sulley. We rescued them in Pune, India. They now live in Scotland with us.

Never before have they seen snow like this. The beast of the east. Up to your knees but they absolutely love it.

A far cry from what they were used to on the beaches of Arambol Goa. Mr Sulley wasn't able to walk when this image was taken due to a lack calcium in his wee legs. But we nursed him back to health.

Bella on top of Baner Hill with a local dog walking group. It is hard to find others in India who share the same love if dogs that we do. Dogs are the rats of India and the vast majority of the population despise them. The government (which is supposed to adhere to Hindi culture) slaughters thousands of dogs every month by hiring the lower class to club them to death or poison them through feeding.

We started an organisation called Dog Friendly Pune. It has now garnered over 100k followers and active dog lovers across the huge city.

I hope our story will inspire others travelling across the world to reacue a dog from the streets. It is completely achievable.

We are from poor working class backgrounds so the financial cost of doing this was overwhelming. However, you will find that animal rescue is one of easiest forms of charity to raise funds for.

So the next time your on holiday give it a thought.

Glad to see Bella and Sulley playing in the snow. I like the initiative that you started to create awareness and help save stray dogs- I hate to see dogs or any other animals suffer. Great pictures- enjoy the snow to the max :)

Sweet story, it's very sad to know about all the cruelty these poor creatures have to face around the world...I am sure they are very grateful to you now, thanks for rescuing them :)

It is indeed. But yes they are super happy now and safe. But I iften think about the 30+ million more strays in India alone and feel sad...

I am do glad you rescued them! They now look do strong and healthy! Thank you for sharing your story!❤

Thats because they dont eat meat :)

They look very strong and healthy now. That's some nice work that you did.
