I met this woman in the travel agency office in Folegandros, Cyclades, Greece when my dad and I were trying to figure out an urgent financial situation. We figured there would be a bank for currency exchange on the island, but later found out that the island did not have one! We tried everywhere. The post office, the travel agency, ATMs (we did not have a debit card), etc. Oh no! We were quickly running out of Euros, and we had just got to the island. Too bad crypto wasn’t an option at the time.

We ended up compromising with the owner of the place we were staying- Ampolos. He was such a laid back guy, and he accepted USD and gave us euros at a favorable exchange rate. He regularly traveled to Athens, so the next time he went, he would just exchange the USD for his native currency.

This girl also helped us set up our exit speed runner accommodations to our next island- Sikinos, which also did not have a bank to exchange currencies. I think the utilization of cryptocurrency speaks volume in the case of this story!

I thought she was just the most beautiful human being ever. A beautiful smile (I don’t think she was ready when this pic was taken lol), a beautiful complexion, dark skin, a wonderful voice, and the list does not stop there! I got a picture with her, but did not get her contact information. What was I thinking?!
