Exploring To "Cerro Bravo" Fredonia Antioquia #Colombia SouthAmericanTravel

in #travel7 years ago

On this occasion I was invited to visit one of the highest mountains in Antioquia, and to thank nature for allowing us to enter.

Fredonia is a municipality of Colombia located in the Southwest subregion of the department of Antioquia. It limits to the north with the municipalities of Venice, Amagá and Caldas, to the east with Santa Barbara, to the west with Tarsus and Jericó and to the south with Thames, Valparaíso and La Pintada.

The name "Fredonia", comes from a suggestion issued by the engineer Tyrrel Moore, of English origin, who insinuated the English word "freedom" to designate the town.

On arrival, to Fredonia. I met a group of people who were going to be the trekking group for this summit. The guides this time were the people of, "Arrieros Caminantes," a pretty crazy and passionate mountain lads, and nature.

we arrived to; "Casa Azul", where we did a kind of ritual of thanks, to the mountain and nature.

We also shared a rich vegetarian meal, then rest and start the walk early the next day.

Very early in the morning we started a long hike of approx 6 hrs of climb to the top of "Cerro Bravo"

We climbed from 1200 mts above sea level to 2800 mts, where we passed through a variety of vegetation very interesting, we had very incredible views, it was a shame that my photographic record was very bad.
