Adventures In Arkansas
Me and Rain Drop experienced another wonderful day exploring the natural state and it's beautiful scenery. We visited Heber Springs and the Bridal Falls first. Then me,Rain and my friends went to several other places in the area that are spectacular and filled with the natural essence of beauty that can be found in abundance all across the state of Arkansas.
Lindsey's Resort on the Red River isn't far from Heber Springs and I recommend stopping by for some great food and maybe an over night stay in the wonderful cabins for rent by the river.
Even though I didn't get to stay the night and enjoy the scenery and the very nice cabins on the river that evening I had a delicious plate of shrimp tacos. The food is decently priced for the portions that are served as well as the quality being extraordinary.
There are fishing boats docked along the pier that are available for renting during most or all seasons and the Pot 'o' Gold restaurant offers the hook and cook feature that allows you to have each one of the trout caught by you and your family to be prepared by their chef and served to you inside.
The evening steam that rises up from the Little Red River captivated me as me and my friends were about to start our journey back home that day and I wanted to stay there and continue this joyful experience. I do plan on visiting this resort and some of the surrounding areas as soon as I have my hip replacement surgery done and I am healed up enough to get back to the way of life that both me and my Hound Dog are so much accustomed to.
This is the Greers Ferry Dam that is just outside of Heber Springs on the Little Red River. We crossed the long bridge that runs across the river to stop at a JFK memorial overlook to get a few nice pictures from the top. I found myself feeling very small as I was looking down on the massive structure and the wide river below us.
The history is as plentiful as the amazing wildlife here in the natural state of Arkansas and me and Rain Drop have barely even scratched the surface of the adventurers and exciting experiences that it has to offer.
These vultures are having a picnic in the middle of the park where I discovered a fish hatchery for trout that apparently supplies the Little Red River with plenty to catch.
The geese here in this picture are enjoying the cool water beneath the hot sunshine.
Last but not least before I wrap up my article today...I want to share this picture of Sugarloaf mountain with you. I didn't hike up the trail near Bridal Falls to get to the top that day but only because of current condition with my hip. However it is most definitely on my bucket list for the very near future for me and Rain Drop Hound Dog.
I would like to give a very special thank you to both of my dear friends April and her brother Clint who has been a blessing to me during this time of healing and for giving both me and my loyal Hound Dog this great adventure. You are both amazing and extremely kind for everything you have done for us both.
As usual...you can make donations for food, supplies or etc with the link posted below. Thank you.
