Baler Unplanned Travel

in #travel6 years ago

They say that what is unplanned, makes it more memorable.

I was still working in Laguna back then (I am now currently in Cebu). Holiday was declared making  it a longer weekend. One my colleague asked "Where to?". The Baler come up with our mind and then we decided to go.

That night we packed our things to go not even knowing what to expect. We just want to escape the stress of work and unwind to a beautiful place.

Where and what is Baler? (Quick Facts)

Baler, officially the Municipality of Baler (Filipino: Bayan ng Baler; Ilokano: Ili ti Baler), is a municipality and capital of the province of Aurora, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 39,562 people.

Baler is located 231 kilometres (144 mi) north-east of Manila via a mountain pass accessible by bus and private vehicle. It is host to spectacular geographic formations and is situated on a vast plain at the south end of Baler Bay, a contiguous segment of the Philippine Sea.

It became the capital of Aurora on 14 June 1951 under Republic Act No. 648 signed by President Elpidio R. Quirino. It remained the seat of government of Aurora on 21 November 1978 under Batas Pambansa Blg. 7 signed by President Ferdinand E. Marcos.

So we started our travel in the morning from Calamba, Laguna. Made our way to Cabanatuan City and then to Baler. As we arrived in Baler. We haven't reserve or book a place to stay, so we scouted to look for a place in which elegant and also cheap. :) So after putting our stuffs we head to the beach to SURF!! Then went to the tourist spots. :) Ditumabo Falls Century Old Balete Tree Baler Museum Photo-shooting.. :) Lastly before leaving. Go to the souvenir shop. There are a lot of places in the Philippines that are so wonderful. Travel young. You might not able to travel when your older. God did not made such magnificent places only to be seen in Facebook photo or post cards. Thanks for reading.. :)
