Great post. Your photos want to make me go there even more! It's on my list but I ran out of time to go there when I was in South America. Next time maybe.
I totally understand - it’s kind of remote. I only found time to go there after a year living and traveling through mainland Chile. I believe you will make it sooner or later. :D
I'm still looking for that mythical flight from Tahiti too. I just think it's such a waste to fly to half way across the Pacific and back again, if you could do Aus-Tahiti-Easter Island-Chile or the reverse.
Exactly! I hate return trips too! I flew to Puerto Rico from Santiago after back from Easter Island, instead of staying in Chile again ;) Maybe you can try the round-the-world ticket? It will require a long time for traveling though.
