Here leaving leftover is discouraged by surprised gift!🎁

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

In my previous post, I wrote about my visit to a religious small town Rishebhdev in Rajasthan, India.
There are so many excited, amazing and different things we can not see if we do not visit different places. In this visit to this small town, I came across some activities and habits of people.
Visiting new place is incomplete without visiting their local market. Here I found some seller selling useful stuff at very low prices.

In the market there was a buzz of Holi festival. A drummer was beating the drum and public giving him money.

At the time of festival public from nearby villages also come to the town to purchase various grocery, clothes, ornaments etc. Passenger increases all of sudden but mode of transportation is limited as in a regular day. Then what is the solution? Here they choose this dangerous and weird way to travel.

A place to stay

At the religious places, it is called Dharmshala a kind of discounted hotel. All facilities at very low cost. In India, one can find this type of stay facility in almost every city. It is most popular among religious travelers.

At last the most interesting one-

In India culture, it is considered bad any leftovers on the plate after finishing any meal. In Jain religion, it is always encouraged not to leave anything on the plate when you finish your meal, it is called a type of sin if you do so. As it is a religious place so they adopted a unique idea to discourage the habit of leftover on the plate. A gift is given to anybody who cleans his/her plate with water and drinks that water. I did it 3 times and my children also encouraged by this not to leftover on the plate after the meal. It was really an amazing experience and satisfaction that we are not wasting any food after our meal.

I finished my meal completely

I cleaned my plate with water and drank it all to ensure nothing left on the plate

This was really encouraging for me and my family to learn not to waste any food.

Hope you liked my travel experiences.

India is a very beautiful country. It is a pity that many people in this country live very poorly.

India will not stop impress me and amaze me!
I am waiting for the day when I will visit your country.

You are most welcome!

I appreciate the idea with the water.
But for myself I might prefer some plain bread to clean the plate from leftover sauce or oil.

Love seeing other countries and culture , it’s what makes them who the y are.
Thanks for sharing picturez.

Thanks for sharing this amazing travel post with us, and i will definitely try to travel from Pune to Rajasthan, i don't go for travels to often but i really like to visit where still people showcase their traditions to fullest. In these pictures it's really reflecting the natural way of living and very simple and traditional lifestyle. So after watching these pictures i want to say that, simple is great and simplicity is greatness. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

Thanks for sharing about the place and culture. In my culture, it was said that we should not have leftover food if not we will get an ugly wife. There is also this thing about not pointing at the moon as the earloop could be affected. Anyway, in modern days, not many would believe these old folktales anymore!

Ha ha interesting..

Nice to see you :) Lovely photos, I already miss India now and my favorite Chola Puri :)

You've got some great photos there. India looks like a vibrant, fascinating place. I really like the color variety in those first couple photos, especially. Very nicely done!
