A little bit about heading to Myanmar (formerly Burma), all I heard about heading to Myanmar was negatives:
Watch out for pickpockets
It’s Dirty
People aren’t that friendly
You can’t travel with ease throughout the country.
My experience, nothing but positives:

Some people just don't know enjoy the small things in life. I've been wanting to visit Myanmar for quite sometime now. It's one of the few places in the world that hasn't been entirely westernized. I've heard it's a very safe country actually.
Absolutely Keephy, its all about what you read isn’t it, if you read mainstream media garbage nowhere is safe. Read the articles of someone who has been and you’ll get the truth! Enjoy your trip!
