GOING NOWHERE SLOWLY - DAY 2
While I do love going nowhere slowly. I still appreciate modern day transport. And in our temperatures, that includes heating or air-con. But while on a road trip in this beautiful Karoo, you can be sure to see the original "going nowhere slowly" donkey carts.
South Africa is a beautiful country, and diverse. Climate, terrain, language all vary from one area to the next. Even our very dry area is a green drought compared to areas not too far away. Yesterday we saw tragic evidence of the fire that raged through the area a couple months ago. Some old farm houses were lost. Tragically so were some lives. People are picking up the pieces. But without the rain it will be a long time before the mountains bloom and the valleys again flow with mountain streams. It is with this sobering reminder, I begin my road trip.
Permaculture can turn this to green. Have you heard of the way Agenda Gotsch does his food forest? It's amazing.
No? I'll look him up. We have a small homesteader in the area that does permaculture. She gives classes but people come from very farm. The locals aren't interested, sadly
I am Pricasso most wonderful artist and you have lifted my spirits, I have procured a smile as my love for those prized beasts of that refined quality Pricasso is humbled by the distinguished beauty of those magical Donkeys Pricasso's favourite animal. Pricasso wonders if perhaps he could make another magical paintbrush from the straws of their fine tails?
Be blessed
Yours Always
Pricasso
@pricasso you would come a very far way for those paintbrushes! But I'm pleased it has lifted your spirits. There are many rescue donkey santuaries in our area. One day I will take photos, on your behalf
