TREMOSINE IN ITALY IS SO BEAUTIFUL we love Italy 🇮🇹

Even though we are back in the rainy Netherlands we did win many things that I need to make a blog about and Tremosine is one off them. It’s one off the must do’s when in the neighbourhood of Lake Garda.

Tremosine is a village in the Italian province of Brescia on Lake Garda and has only 2070 inhabitants. The area is 72.3 km², the population is Abu 27 inhabitants per km².

Where the Alps seem to dive into the blue lake, the rocky nature is still untouched and the peaceful life follows the rhythm of the Italian seasons, and there you will find Tremosine sul Garda.

Tremosine is located on the western shores of Lake Garda, some ten kilometers from Limone.

For us about 1 hour drive, but with a stop for the perfect espresso no problem ! For centuries this village lived in isolation, but now it does nothing more than to show its splendor to anyone visiting this town.

And is it in every book and holiday brochure as a place to visit. Tremosine sul Garda is in the heart of the Parco Alto Garda Bresciano. It consists of 18 picturesque hamlets, scattered among mountains and hills, among the plains with olive trees, green meadows and pine forests.

Two of those hamlets are the high-lying Pieve and Campione, directly on the lake. Pieve looks like an eagle's nest, from where you can look out over Lake Garda. You will find the infamous Terrazza del Brivido, the "shiver terrace" or "horror terrace" where you can look almost 350 meters perpendicular down. This results in a truly magnificent panorama - if you don't suffer from heights! Well we do actually, hubby has severe suffer from heights but wanted to see. And even I felt some shovers when I entered the platform but the view is so magnificent that I overcame them.

But to let your stomach relax a little after such a high altitude, the chefs of the many restaurants are happy to serve you their specialty: lo spiedo, a skewer with all kinds of meat, served with polenta. As a sweet ending you order a plate of spongadì, delicious cookies with your espresso.

Or as we did a coppa fragile con panne. Strawberries with ice cream and whipped cream. In the many deli shops you can buy Alpine butter, cold cuts, honey, olive oil and even precious white and black truffles. Don't forget the different cheeses, such as the Formagella di Tremosine, delicious as a souvenir!

And offcourse when you are not afraid of heights, follow the Sentiero del Porto, a path that runs down a cliff through a forest. Along all places of worship and Maria places of sight. You can go back to Pieve by bus, along the narrow road that runs through the Brasa gorge, one of the most spectacular roads in all of Italy. In fact, this road is also called "the most beautiful road in the world". When the road was opened in May 1913, everyone was full of praise for the wonderful route, which offers beautiful views of the lake. Winston Churchill is said to have called the road "the eighth wonder of the world." Since then, the road has been the backdrop for countless car advertisements and the James Bond film Quantum of Solace has also played a role for this "most beautiful road in the world".

For me ( and the rest of my family ) a wonderful day with so many memories that are even mire beautiful than the pictures. I made a lot and will remember it forever. Making memories guys that’s what it’s all about!
