RE: Travel with me #52 : Musée du Louvre
I feel like your parents are billionaires. Everytime I look you are on another lavish trip!

Haha, I can assure you they are not! Thankfully i'm travelling from the UK so actually the trip was really quite cheap ~ 500 euros including flights and accommodation.
How do you know English so well? You even understand humor in English which is something that is hard to translate and hard for non native speakers to understand.
Before I went to study abroad in the UK, I spent most of my free time watching overseas TV shows and like most other prospective overseas students, I found it very difficult to understand colloquial English. So, what I would do is read the subtitles and actually write them down. Mostly through watching endless amounts of TV, I think I picked up most of my comprehension skills. I still feel much more comfortable reading and writing than I do speaking and listening though. This is a commonality with all my overseas friends too.
Perhaps where I'm a little better compared to other overseas students is that most of the people I hang around with are culturally diverse and English speaking. Other Chinese overseas students tend to remain in their safety net and interact just with other overseas Chinese people.
That makes sense. Great job learning another language that well!
