The story of Brighton West Pier
Along the beautiful coastline of Brighton, we can see the remains of a pier. It is little more than charred poles now, but this structure was once the Brighton West Pier. The Pier was originally built as a tourist attraction in the 1860s ( a really really long time ago). However, it was unfortunately closed in 1975 ( thats more than 100 years of operation already). The pier became derelict and in 2003, it fell victim to a suspected arson attack.
Here is a video from 2003:
Currently on the harborside, a new project the British Airways i360 is built to attract tourists!
Its sad to see such wonderful piece of history like that disappear. The new stuff is really novel and fancy, but nothing can replace history. To have walked where so many before you had, is like traveling through time. Thanks for sharing, you seem to always have interesting posts. worthy of a resteem and upvote
yeah, quite sad to see it go. but it's a cool reminder of the past
I like the building in the photo of the new stuff the one with the classic look it is fantastic
Post good👍👍
It's a shame when we lose things like that I would imagine in today's world it would cost a fortune to replace. Nice picture good article thanks
