Trip in Morocco sahara

in #travel7 years ago

n the heart of the desert, which is located in the South East of Morocco, there exist many Berber communities that were once divided among different villages. Merzouga and Hassi Labied are examples. These tiny villages are typical ones; different races co-exist regardless of their varied customs and habits. Our parents and grandparents lived a Nomadic lifestyle, breeding and nourishing their herds of sheep, goats and camels in the desert where wild plants grew in the middle of the Sahara of Erg Chebbi towards the Algerian borders that are close by. Because of the difficult conditions such as the drought, which had affected all agriculture during that time, our parents tried hard to improve their way of life in order to have enough food for their herds. Thanks to their life of nomadic experiences, which they relied on to look for a strategic spot to settle down, they were fortunate to find suitable places surrounding the huge sand dunes of Erg Chebbi where they began the process of cultivation from fertile soil and seeds, leading to the growth of palms trees and harvest of crops.

This Amazing region was discovered by curious travelers who made this area of Erg Chebbi known. Several families managed to offer accommodations to visitors, therefore we got the opportunity to be in contact with foreigners and to learn about different cultures. Finally, we were able to study at school with the interest of learning English and French languages. We also speak Spanish due to our contact with Spanish people, who are frequent visitors to the Erg Chebbi desert.
