OldiesBURGER 歐帝斯美墨餐廳 looked very hip from the outside and is very hip on the inside. Playing classic "oldies music" creates a fun vibe. I was welcomed in to Oldies Burger by a friendly man with a lot of tattoos so I took a seat. No outside food or drink was allowed, so I placed my coffee on the other side of the table.

I was a little uncomfortable because I was the only customer in the place at 12:20 on a Friday during lunchtime. After I took a seat at OldiesBURGER 歐帝斯美墨餐廳 and then a very unfriendly lady handed me a menu and brought me a glass of water.

The standard menu at OldiesBURGER 歐帝斯美墨餐廳 is available in English and Chinese. There's a NT$300 minimum charge and most burgers range fr NT$320-450. There was a Japanese scallop burger that caught my eye for NT$450, but I decided not to because trying something expensive is a risky move when trying a place for the first time.

Whoaaaaaa! That burger was good. The best burger in Taipei...and I have a few highly rated places that I love. High quality beef cooked perfectly. Juicy, but not too the point were the bread loses its structural integrity. The sauces were so balanced with the rest of the burger, it's hard to believe that they made it in less than 10 minutes.

Sweet, juicy, crunchy bacon and parmesan cheese crisp was incredible. Even though ithe price at Oldies Burger in Taiwan is much higher than your other chains, that's the price you pay for the best burger in Taiwan.

By the time I left there were more people, mostly locals. If you're looking for the best burger in Taipei, or even the world, OldiesBURGER 歐帝斯美墨餐廳 should be on your list.

Money In Taiwan

Tax Is Included In The Price

All displayed prices in Taiwan are the actual price. Tax is already included and for large purchases, tourists visiting Taiwan can get a 5% Taiwan VAT refund at the airport Tax Refund counter. Some shops offer this service too, but they will require your passport.

Taiwan Is Cash Only (For Most Small Shops)

The primary payment method for all transactions in Taiwan is cash. It's very rare for small shops to take anything other than cash. It's more common to see places accept the Taipei Metro Card as payment rather a credit card.

Supermarkets and convenience stores in Taiwan (7-Eleven, Family Mart) do not accept credit cards (at least not American credit cards). You can only make purchases by cash or by using your pre-loaded funds on your EasyCard.

Using Credit Cards in Taiwan

If you want to use your credit card in Taiwan, make sure to check if a restaurant in Taiwan accepts credit card in advance. When a place does accept credit card, it will typically be Visa or Mastercard. It's extremely rare for a place to accept Discover and American Express. UberEats, HonestBee, Deliveroo and FoodPanda are Taipei Food Delivery Services where you can order food directly to your airbnb or hotel using a credit card.

Exchanging Money in Taiwan
