I am currently enjoying a family vacation in a lovely villa on Koh Samui in Thailand. I plan to steem about it shortly. However, today I have something more intriguing. Nearby to where I am staying situated near the top of a mountain there are at least 14 abandoned villas.
One can only wonder how long they have been left abandoned and what the circumstances where so that this happened. The land they occupy offers panoramic sunset ocean views and would be worth millions already. Add to this the fact that many of the villas appear almost completed and it seems a shame that they were so close. Now, the jungle has begun to reclaim them and thick vines are beginning to entangle many of the structures.
Each of the villas were designed to be 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom with a private pool.
The jungle is beginning to take back the land.
It is quite eerie walking through the abandoned villa complex and wondering what might have been.
This should be a beautiful infinity-edged pool filled with crystal clean water for swimming. Its now filled with stagnant green rainwater.
The living room, the deck, the pool and the million dollar views over the Gulf of Thailand.
This villa has nearly been completely engulfed by the dense tropical plants on the mountain.
Another picture of the beautiful views that the villa guests would have enjoyed.
You can see here how the finished villas were supposed to look. I can't help but dreaming about buying the derelict buildings and finishing them for myself.
What a terrible shame million dollar views left for the soul jungle to take residence :(
Damn ... That's where I put my villa! All joking aside, KS is a great island. Are you going over to Ko Phanghan and Koh Tao where there's even more magic? :)
Great post @bkkshadow.I love Samui. There is a curious dead monk seated outside a temple on the island, I wrote about a while ago. very strange story. Upvoted.
