Professional people often have to make business travel quite often because of the nature of the work. Whenever you have to leave office and travel (short or long distance) to other areas to meet the buyers, clients, potential investors or business partners, you are making a business trip. Never underestimate the trip because it can determine the future of business as well as the business operation in a whole.

There are so many different elements and factors that can be included in the business travel term. When you have to fly to a potential buyer to make a presentation so he will be interested in buying your product or investing money, you are making a business trip. When you have to drive to the next city for seminars or training, you are making a business trip. You don’t have to be the key speaker – being the participant alone makes you qualified for making a trip. As long as you are away for a certain period of time for the sake of business and then come back to the office as usual, you are being away for a business purpose.

What about the expenses? Who pays for everything? In most cases, it is the company responsible for covering your expenses. If you have to fly away, stay in a hotel or rent a car to represent the company, the expenses for the hotel, car rental cost, plane tickets, and meals are covered by the company. Even when you have to drive to the neighboring city, the gas and meal and probably accommodation will be covered and reimbursed by the company.

In the event that the company has limited budgets, they will come up with a special arrangement. Therefore, they have enough money to cover for the trip. The employees aren’t responsible for paying these business travel expenses because the travel is designed by the company, not by themselves.
