Ride with me #20: Muses of Mahabaleshwar (Part 3)
Tapola also known as Mini Kashmir is a store house of flora and fauna. An early morning trek through the jungle will fill your lungs with fresh air. You can trek through the nature's pathways and when tired, enjoy a calming boat ride on the lake Shivsagar which is just by the jungle.
You do not truly know a place until you explore it's history. The Pratapgarh fort is your perfect initiation into getting to know Mahabaleshwar. It is a landmark with the imprint of the Maratha Empire’s struggle for Swaraj under Shivaji’s command. A ghost town of ponds and dark chambers is sure to give you the thrill.
There are no words to describe the breath taking view of this waterfalls. It is serene and clamorous at the same time. The correct lighting will give you a perfect photograph for your Instagram post.
Finally if time permits, do visit the Rajpuri Caves. These caves have a haunting effect with stories going back to the Mahabharata era. It has an interesting channel of underground tunnels that connect the caves, all waiting to be explored.
