LEARN ANY LANGUAGE, ONLINE, FOR FREE

Well, nothing in life is free. This one will cost you time but, you get what you give.

I grew up in San Diego, took a couple of years of Spanish in High School, and have spent about 9 weeks of my life - at different times - south of the border. Now that I'm 44, I'm kicking myself for not having become much more fluent in the Spanish language when I was younger. There are Spanish-speaking people all over America and I find it more and more necessary to become more fluent in Spanish as time goes on.

I'm not one of those Americans who says, "They should be learning our language - we shouldn't have to learn theirs!" I don't get all upset about it. I just accept the reality that I live in - and leave the political arguments to the voters and politicians. I may have my opinions on the subject, but others have different opinions - which doesn't help me to learn Spanish right now, and doesn't help me to deal with the reality of the situation. For that, I go to a great website called, "Duolingo."

It's free. It has great, interactive programs that combine hearing, writing, and seeing to help you learn your language of choice. My language of choice is Spanish, but you could learn Hungarian if that's what you're into. This site helps you track your progress in learning a new language, send you email reminders, and it's just the greatest help for anyone learning a new language. I'd encourage everyone to brush up on their second languages and go give it a try.
