Yes, the locals are very friendly. They were so happy to share their culture with us. But it's hard to distinguish the genuine friendly people from the tourist traps. There a lot of tourist traps in this city and a lot of fake friendly just to get into your wallet. That's why this tour was so great! It showed the real locals without the masks.
