The cradle of the renaissance and the capital of Tuscany. Firenze (Florence) is a cultural, artistic and architectural gem. Many artists like Michelangelo, Dante, Da Vinci en Boticelli got inspired by the soothing environment and the favourable mediterranean climate. Firenze is located in a Valley surrounded by green hills and vineyards. It is one of the most beautiful cities of Italy and a world capital of art. But before you pack, these 5 things you should do while visiting Firenze.

1. Reach Piazzale Michelangelo

Now let’s get back on track! Piazzale Michelangelo is an amazing and romantic spot. It has a stunning view over the whole city. I’d recommend going by sunrise or sunset for the most stunning views. Not only that, but It’s also an amazing place for a romantic picnic. If you want to make an impression on a loved one, this is the spot ;)

2. Get wowed by the Bardini Gardens

Firenze has a lot of architectural beauty. But hidden inside this city is a lot of natural beauty and parks. Bardini Gardens is a very beautiful garden you cannot miss. This park is virtually unknown and very calm. You should really take your time to appreciate the garden. I’d recommend going by sunrise or sunset for the most beautiful scenery.

3. Eat at Gusta Pizza!

Pizza, pizza and pizza! This is why I came to Italy! I wanted to have some real Italian pizza and boy I wasn’t disappointed. This pizza is by far the best I had in my entire life! The margherita on this pizza tasted like it was created by a God. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the reviews on tripadvisor and yelp.

4. Buy grapes

Tuscany is known for its grapes and wine. They even offer grape tours and wine tours! The best grapes are found in Tuscany. Coincidentally, Firenze happens to be the capital of Tuscany. There are lots of markets and small fruit stores where you can buy these delicious grapes. Ask to have a taste first, you won’t be disappointed.

5. Visit Siena

Siena is close to Firenze. You can easily get there by train or car and it is worth a visit. Siena is a medieval city and rich in history and art. It’s a very popular destination in Tuscany. The streets are small and cozy and the food is delicious.
