There is a first time for everythingsteemCreated with Sketch.

A few weeks ago, we went to Al Ain for the weekend. We just had to get away from this little desert down we're staying in and we've develop a strange kind of love for Al Ain. It's not as busy as Dubai and Abu Dhabi and has a "homey" feeling to it. Our aim was to do something special with the kids as it's summer, it's too hot outside during the day and it's holiday. We sucked up the evening heat and went to Hili Fun City that is basicly a fun park and has a wide variety of rides.

This was a first for our children. We didn't visit such places before because they were always too short for the rides. At last, they reached the right length and we were all able to enjoy ourselves...mom and dad too!

The first thing we saw when we arrived there, was the horse carriage. I don't mean to talk nonsense so I'll just say it as it is: This was the first time they ever saw a real horse, sad as it is. Not many horses walking around in the UAE.

It was almost impossible to move along from there as they wanted to pet and feed the horse. This is actually a ride that goes around the entire park, so we kept it for last.

Walking through the park, it looked like a fairy tale. Lights and lights and more lights everywhere. All the rides was just so beautiful and very inviting.

We tried everything!

The highlight was the roller coaster - it looked like a slow-poke so we were all giggling when we got on. It went sooooo slow and then it caught some speed. The children were screaming and I have to admit that I was a little scared the first time too, but it was a total shocker! I could not imagine a small little roller coaster like that being able to shock me, but it did.

We took a few rides just for the fun of it and each time we were surprised.
While the kids were having a treat to eat, my husband went alone on the "Sky Flyer". My daughter cried the whole time as she was so scared for her father. He waved at us from the top constantly and that made her cry even more. She was relieved when the ride was over and she saw him coming around the corner in one piece.

I had only my Samsung to take pictures, but the rest came out too blurry to show here. The kids enjoyed it so much that they did not want to go home but the horse carriage ride made up for their highlight of the day.

The first time for everything is always the most memorable!

This looks so nice bdmomuae must have been lots of fun, love your pictures. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you @bigbear. We had a great time

Brilliant post. That looked like a fun trip especially for the kids. I remember in 2013 while I was working in Dubai we took a similar trip with some friends during Eid break. Instead of stopping in Al Ain we crossed over into Oman, I think the town was Sohar or something. But we had a great time and a break from busy Dubai. We didn't go into that park but if I were there;I would like to try that roller coaster looks like hair raising fun :)

Maybe one day you'll get the chance to go. Who knows.
Thanks for reading @practicaleric
