Dear Steemian friends, today I would love to share with you the Ancient City of Jerusalem

The Ancient City of Jerusalem or also often called the Old City of Jerusalem is an ancient city located in the eastern part of East Jerusalem, the city is surrounded by walls. Old City Jerusalem is a holy city for three religions, namely Judaism (Judaism), Christianity and Islam. Inside the old city of Jerusalem there is a place to pray for the followers of Judaism called Kotel HaMaaravi or we know the Wailing Wall. For Christians there is also a place for them to pray here, a church called the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. For followers of Islam there is a very historic building associated with the events of Isra 'Mi'raj namely Al Aqsa Mosque, which is the third main mosque in Islam after the Grand Mosque and Nabawi Mosque. There are also two more historic buildings for Muslims, Qubbat Al-Sakhra or what we call it the Dome of the Rock and the Buraq Mosque. There are several gates to enter the Old City of Jerusalem, one of which is called Damascus Gate. The gate is the most widely used by tourists to enter the Old City of Jerusalem.

The Western Wall or what we know as the Wailing Wall is an important place and is considered sacred by the Jews. They believe that this wall is the remnant of the Temple wall which originally had a length of 485 meters and currently there are only 60 meters. Called the Wailing Wall because in this wall Jews pray and at the same time weep for their sins with regret. In addition, the prayers they say also write on a piece of paper and put it by inserting a piece of paper that reads the prayer into the crevices of the wall on the Wailing Wall. Orthodox Jews believe that they should not pray together with women, therefore this wall is divided into two parts, partly for men and partly for women, separated by a fence separator.
