5 Reasons Why You Should Visit Villa de Leyva, Colombia

For the people who are not familiar. Villa de Leyva is a small town in Colombia, it is a 3 hour ride from Bogota the capital city.

1. Villa de Leyva is a World heritage Center according to Unesco. It has preserved the colonial style architecture including the stone streets.

2. Villa the Leyva is really close to a reservation park called Iguaque. This park has a lake, it has moorland weather and it is a pretty cool hike.

3. Since it has become really touristic, there are lots of restaurants and hostels to choose from and lots of people speak English so you will not have trouble communicating.

4. You can check out some cool fossils. Because of its special terrain, the land kept fossils intact for hundreds of years, there is a museum you can visit where they will tell you more about it. Also some houses have decorations made with them.

5. The weather is pretty awesome, it ranges from 10 c to 22 c all year round.

Each room is unique, they also have some pretty cool local art in case you are into it. Additionally it has access to a spa, with sauna and you can even get a massage, some rooms have Jacuzzis or bathtubs in case you feel tired from all the hiking.
