Cathedral of the Three Hierarchs in Mogilev.Belarus.
The Cathedral of the Three Saints of the Orthodox Church is located in the heart of the city of Mogilev, next to the Puppet Theater, the Minsk Bazaar. In 1903, the first stone of the cathedral was named, named for the Three Saints of the Orthodox Church - Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, John Chrysostom. The construction was carried out under the project and under supervision of the outward counselor, the provincial architect P. Kalinin. The funds were collected through voluntary donations in parish churches, as well as on subscription lists. The construction of the cathedral lasted 11 years and was completed in 1914.
In 1930, the building of the church was transferred to the machine-building plant. Dimitrova (now the plant "Strommashina"). The former church was reconstructed: the onion domes were replaced by conical ones, the bell tower was dismantled. After that, the room was used as a club and a canteen at the factory.
Since October 1941, i.e. In the occupied Mogilev, the services in the cathedral resumed and continued in the city liberated from the Germans, up to the 1960s. In January, 1960 the building of the cathedral was again transferred to the labor collective of the plant "Strommashina". After the repair works in the former Trehsvyatitelsky Cathedral the factory club was opened. And after a while the city disco "Resonance" was located there, films were shown. To the right of the altar was a bar counter, to the left there is a wardrobe, in the altar there is a stage for the presenter. Tables in several rows stretched from the central entrance to both wings. In the middle is a dance floor.
In the second half of the 80s the building of the church was again transferred to the believers, and from December 1989 the church services resumed. After the restoration works the church took its original form: the bell tower, the dome were rebuilt. In 1995, a cathedral church was built at the cathedral, designed by the architect A. Yurkovets. To date, the Cathedral of the Three Saints is the central temple of Mogilev and the architectural decoration of the city.
