Perhaps it is better not to do research about the place you are going to visit.
You do not raise your expectations and say "wooooowww" for every good thing you see :)

Yes and no, I'd say... Although I prefer not to research anything, many times I have missed the hidden gems of a spot because of it. I still haven't worked out the best way to deal with this.
