Skrillex, Chinatown and Laduree
Hello everyone! Well here’s the continuation of yesterday’s blog post about my day trip to Los Angeles
I have always been fascinated by the area of LA known as Chinatown. It’s always so nostalgic to me as this is a place I would frequent with my father when I was a little girl.
It’s not as bustling as it once was. Many of the restaurants have long since closed and are abandoned while others have been replaced by touristy import shops.
However, I still enjoy strolling through the beautiful buildings.
I was sad to see this restaurant abandoned.
I stopped at my favorite herbalist to pick up some ginseng and jasmine pearl tea.
This is a favorite acupuncture and herbalist stop for many celebrities.
Right there in Chinatown you will find Skrillex’s (a famous edm DJ and producer, shop OWSLA.
Inside of a re-purposed car shop you will find all his clothing line which is one of my son’s favorite.
I had to make a stop to pick him up some shirts and caps since he was unable to go with me.
After all that running around I decided to drive to The Grove. This is one of my fave malls as they have a Laduree patisserie.
So pretty!
Yum!
Swoooon!
I found a seat...
And dug into this rose and raspberry dessert!
That was a perfect way to end my day trip!
Do you like going on day trips?
Xo,
Chinatown looks super cool.
It’s super cool friend! But it’s so sad to see so mNy gorgeous shops empty.
Howdy friend, seen ol google eyes lately. Love you friend 🐓❤️
Googley eyes slipped into my Instagram, hacked it and it’s been a crazy ride ever since! Everyone thinks I have a wrinkley booty now lol
MISSED YOU❤️
I went to Chinatown in Chicago when I was a kid. I remember it being a very neat place and being so different from the surrounding Chicago city sights. I think LA looks like it has cooler buildings though. Your dessert looks delicious. My daughter loves raspberries so I'm always intrigued to see raspberries in dessert dishes. They aren't a popular berry where I live so they are never used in foods you can buy at restaurants.
It was truly delicious! If you ever buy raspberries on sale, cook them in very little water with sugar, purée them and save them in ziploc bags so you may use it as a thick syrup on your baby’s toast, dessert, ice cream you name it! I sometimes add it to my milkshakes!
