Oh wow! That's such a great story and a cheap meal! I love it - thanks for sharing. It has got to be crazy to be at the mercy of someone else - not knowing any of the Chinese characters or being able to read any of them or communicate at all. I could just see the tour guide playing a trick on you and writing on the paper, "These dumb Americans have no idea - point them in any direction you want. They want pulled noodles. Good luck." Lol. You would be handing them this paper and smiling and they laugh and go along with the joke. ;) You would never know! Anyway, sounds really yummy!
