TOP 5 LOCATIONS FOR SOLO FEMALE TRAVELERS

in #travel6 years ago

Traveling solo can be scary at first, trust me. I've been traveling solo for almost two years and I absolutely love it.

There will always be people who put doubts in your head and try to convince you that you shouldn't travel alone. You might be worried about how you'll meet new friends, and you'll always have to have your guard up. But these are all things that go along with the adventure and journey of traveling solo.

In case you're still worried, I've put together a list of my favorite top 5 locations for solo female travelers.

London, UK

London is the perfect spot for a solo female traveler. Not only is it a big and safe city, there are so many different things you can do there no matter what your tastes. You can visit a show, dine out, or go shopping.

Because London is a huge tourist location, there are many other travelers there. It's perfect for those who are introverted and looking for an easy way to make friends. There is something here for every solo female traveler.

Copenhagen, Denmark

All of the Nordic cities have extremely low crime rates and are high on bucket lists. Copenhagen is the perfect place for solo female travelers. I found Copenhagen to be extremely female-friendly as well. Starting at their hostel options, there are a ton of them where you can choose a females-only dorm.

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is a beautiful city! Because the city is pedestrian-friendly, it's easy to just walk around and explore on your own. There are many different restaurants with delicious food and patios that are perfect for solo people-watching. Grab a glass of wine and a book and enjoy the beauty that Barcelona has to offer.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai stole my heart — not only for the many different things you can do there but for its safety as well. It's a beautiful city with even more beautiful people. Everyone is extremely nice, and they offer a lending hand any time of day. The city is big, but the main areas of interest are all close together. You can grab a beer by yourself in the middle of the night and not have to worry about anything happening to you.

Taipei, Taiwan

Literally ranked the safest city for solo female travelers, Taipei is great! I lived here for four months and never felt unsafe at all. There were nights where I walked down the street at three in the morning and felt it was OK to do so. Everyone is extremely friendly and willing to help you any time of day. Transportation is extremely easy as well, and they have a great metro system that helps you feel safe.
