2015년. 유럽에 도착하다(KOR)

대학생이 된 후, 첫 여행은 당근 유럽이라고 생각해 비행기 표를 끊었습니다.ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
하지만 항상 가족이랑은 많이 다녔어도 혼자서 여행은 처음이라 생각보다 긴장도 되고 챙겨야 할 것도 많더라구요...
그래서 페이스 북 유디니 그룹이나 유랑 같은 페이지에 가입해 준비물을 뭘 챙겨 가져가야하나 슬쩍 보기도 했죠..!!!
So after getting into university, the first thing that came into my mind was going to Europe for travel.
I have been to several countries in with my family but I have never traveled by myself before. Got a bit nervous to I tried to find some information on-line.
일단 준비물 과정은 생략하고(사실 꽤 오래 전이라 잘 기억이...ㅎㅎ)
공항에 도착하니까 행사들도 엄청 많아졌더라구요. 고등학교 때는 공부한답시고 여행을 못다녔으니 이런게 신기했었어요ㅋㅋ
I will skip my preparation packing and booking all the stuff(mainly as it is more than 2 long years ago...)
I haven't been to the Incheon international airport when I was in high school cause I had to study for my university exams(sort of a Korean SAT). AND here I was finding out all the new things in the airport.
FYI, the Incheon International Airport is one of the biggest airport in Asia. You are most likely to start from Incheon international airport when you visit Korea. Also when you get your transfer to go to the U.S.

특히 외국인 분들께 엄청 인기가 많더라구요. 지나가면서 저도 신기해서 몇장 찍었습니다!!
I saw some parades which resemble the Kings and Queens ones in the past. I took some photos as it was quite amusing.

이런 저런 구경하고 면세점에서 물건도 사고 하니 시간이 금방 가더라구요. 영국까지 12시간 장거리 비행이니 샤워를 하고 가려고 미리 검색해둔 공항 무료 샤워시설에서 샤워를 했어요!!!
I bought some things from the duty free store and poked around here and there. I had a 12hour flight to London so I went to a free shower space in the airport that I have searched earlier.

샤워는 무료지만 수건이 없으시다면 단돈 1000원에 수건 대여를 하실 수 있습니다.
Taking a shower is free and you can use the towel for 1,000KRW if you need to.
샤워장은 이렇게 생겼는데 거의 호텔 샤워장 같이 깨끗하고 편했어요. 옷도 츄리닝으로 갈아입고 12시간 비행을 대비한 모든 준비를 끝냈습니다!
This is how the shower room looks like. It was clean and convenient. I changed my clothes to comfy ones and finished everything for my 12 hour flight.
이제 탑승 게이트로 가서 비행기를 타러 갔죠. 요놈이 제 12시간을 책임질 친구에요!
This fellow would be flying up in the air for 12hours for me to London.

비행기를 타고 슝슝 갔습니다...어후 12시간 정말 힘들더라구요... 허리도 아프고ㅠㅠ 다행스럽게 옆 앉으신 인도분이랑 얘기하면서 가서 지루하지는 않았어요!
OMG. I have never took a 12hour straight flight. My back hurt and it wasn't that good. Luckily I had a great man from India next to me who shared the burden a bit.

게다가 저는 시차 적응을 하기 위해 비행기 안에서는 거의 자지 않아요. 이번 비행의 경우 한국이랑 영국이 9시간 차이가 나고, 비행시간이 12시간이면 한국 출발 시간 기준(예를 들면 10시)으로 현지 시간은 3시간이 지난 (1시)겠죠? 그러면 내려서도 자지 않고 현지 시간대로 움직여요. 돌아다니고 먹고 하면서 리듬을 빨리 현지에 맞추는거죠! 그러면 시차 적응이 빨리 되더라구요. 혹시 시차적응이 힘들다 하시는 분들은 한번 시도해 보세요!
Also, I usually don't sleep during flights to adjust to the local time ASAP. So for example, when my departure time was 10am in Korea, and since it takes 12 ours to London, considering the jet-lag between Seoul and Korea which is 9 hours, I will arrive at 13:00 in London local time.(Did I make it clear?)Then I just do things as if I am in 13:00 and sleep in that local time. If you have hard time getting to adjust yourself to jet-lag, why not try what I do?

입국 심사를 하는데 정말 깐깐하게 물어보더라구요..입국심사 하는데 얼마있을거나부터 현금 얼마가져왔냐해서 카드로 가져왔다하니까 카드 한도까지 물어봤어요..ㅋㅋㅋ그래도 엄청 innocent하게 대답해서 그런지(아니면 그래서 더 의심스러웠나)보내주긴 했어요..
I went to the immigration and oh god the officer was asking me all sorts of things. How much cash I have brought with me, how long I will be studying, whats the limit of my credit card and so on. I tried to explain as much as I can.(Then I found another Korean next door who could barely speak English who just got her stamp right away. Maybe I looked suspicious?)

이 집이 제가 1달간 영국에 있으면서 머무를 집이에요! Airbnb나 호스텔도 있지만 전 아는 분이 빈 방을 쓰게해 주셔서 숙박비를 조금 아낄 수 있었습니다. Newmalden이라고 London시내 또는 Waterloo역에서 30분 정도 기차로 걸리는 곳이에요. 우리나라로 치면 한 종로에서 흑석?느낌인거 같아요!
This is the house that I spent one month in the UK. There are Airbnb and hostels around, but I had someone my father knew so he gave me a spare room which was amazing. The city? was called Newmalden and it is about 30min away from the Central London or Waterloo station. It is also known as a little Korea town in the UK.
