Munnar

Munnar rises as three mountain streams merge - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. 1,600 m above sea level, this hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling tea plantations, picturesque towns, winding lanes and holiday facilities make this a popular resort town. Among the exotic flora found in the forests and grasslands here is the Neelakurinji. This flower which bathes the hills in blue once in every twelve years, will bloom next in 2018. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India, Anamudi, which towers over 2,695 m. Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking.

Alappuzha

Referred to as the Venice of the East, Alappuzha has always enjoyed an important place in the maritime history of Kerala. Today, it is famous for its boat races, backwater holidays, beaches, marine products and coir industry. Alappuzha Beach is a popular picnic spot. The pier, which extends out to the sea here, is over 137 years old. Entertainment facilities at the Vijaya Beach Park add to the attraction of the beach. There is also an old lighthouse nearby which greatly intrigues all visitors.
Another delightful experience while in Alappuzha is the houseboat cruise. The houseboats you find in the backwaters of Alappuzha are in fact a reworked version of the Kettuvallams of olden times. Kettuvallam is a Malayalam word, ‘Kettu’, refers to dwelling structures and ‘Vallom’ means boat. In the olden days, kettuvallam or boat with thatched roof that covers over wooden hulls was used to carry tons of rice and spices.

Athirappally Waterfalls

Athirapally and Vazhachal are among the most majestic waterfalls in the State. These picturesque locations have attracted people for ages with their lush greenery and stunning views. At Athirapally, one can see water crashing into the Chalakudy river after a 80 ft journey. A cool spray takes over the terrain and people are left enchanted at this natural wonder.

Bekal Fort Kasaragod

Bekal Beach is located in the northernmost district of Kerala, Kasargod. Here lies the majestic Bekal Fort, one of the most well maintained forts in Kerala. The Bekal Resorts Development Corporation (BRDC) has turned this entire place into an exotic location.

There are too many more wonderful and greenly places that you can hangout with your family friends and others those who are more.. I cant detail all the places and cultures in a single post it will be long and longer.. I'll try to make different post about different places and activities in future.

Wild life

The very sound of the word Thekkady conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations. The Periyar forests of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India. Spreads across the entire district are the picturesque plantations and hill towns that nestle beautiful trails for treks and mountain walks.
Wealth of Periyar Forests
Flora: There are over 1965 flowering plants including 171 grass species and 143 species of orchids here. The only south Indian conifer, scientifically known as Podocarpus Wallichianus, grows in the forests of the Periyar Tiger Reserve.
