Just ride to eat in Yaroslavl from Kostroma, it's somehow quite out of the ordinary. It is necessary to combine with the cultural program. Sightseeing, visiting exhibitions, museums or various events. One of such places was for us the village of Vyatskoe.

Village Vyatskoe is located 30 km from Yaroslavl. In all the guidebooks it is indicated as an ancient merchant village and appears in the list of the most beautiful villages of Russia.

The village was on the trade road from Yaroslavl to Vologda and had a great trading potential. The village was rich. It was built up. It needed a brick. There were organized factories for the production of bricks. I saw pictures of the 19th century village center. Feeling that this is a city. Ladies in dresses, paving stones, spans, benches and shops ...

Now this is a small town, but even in winter, in the cold, the sensations are interesting. The village is beautifully located along the banks of the Ukhtomka river. A lot of stone buildings - merchant houses and benches. Of course, many require repair, but still the beauty of masonry and finishes is visible.

The village is very famous for its cucumber craft. In the century before last, it was one of the important sources of income. Now here, too, are sold salted and pickled cucumbers.

We were in Vyatsky in the winter, but we will definitely come here in the spring. Beautiful, picturesque countryside, nature walks, open air and of course, after a walk, some tasty steak in Yaroslavl, on the way back home.
