Road story... Italian adventure

in #travel7 years ago

Italian history with the Icelandic volcano.

I have visas and tickets on my hands. Remains literally three days before departure and a new spring adventure. Euphoria, which can not win even a wave of frost outside the window. And so, I'm looking through photos from past trips, I come across a rather funny story ...

It was in Italy in the warm April days of 2010. It so happened that I came to Milan to attend a large furniture exhibition. The whole trip preparation was assigned to me. The choice of hotels, flights, car rental ... I was doing all this, trying to save as much as possible on everything. Everything went well!

This was my second time in Milan and, probably, the fourth in Italy. I rented Lancia. A beautiful car with a terrible gearbox.

Good weather, wine, landscapes, exhibition ... All magically! Monte Napoleone is a shopping street with steep brands. It has many beautiful shops, people, cars.

Time passed like a dream.
And so, we go to the airport, look at the scoreboard with a complete cancellation of flights and find out that in Iceland a volcano with the unpronounceable name Eyyafyadlyayukudl erupts.

Aircraft do not fly. The money is running low. It is necessary to Russia.

I figure out what's what, we sit down in our lap and rush to Rimini. There, in Rimini, at the Fellini airport, the planes take off and land. And there are charter flights to Russia ... So we go there.

We are racing well, but not for long. Suddenly the car began to behave strangely ... Parked right on the freeway, we found out that we had a wheel released. We put the dock and rushed to the nearest gas station.

At the gas station we began to ask the workers where the tire service was.
And, we talk on a mixture of Russian, English and some other languages. As a result of communication it was found out that there are no tire assemblies here. There is a flying brigade that comes by phone. The tanker graciously called this brigade. About 30 minutes later a dashing handsome man on a van pulled us up. He looked at our wheel, scratched his head, shouted to us that they would follow him and jumped into the cab. We had to sweat to keep close to him. He did not exactly observe the speed regime. Below 130 km per hour, the speed did not fall at all. We arrived at the station where our wheel was repaired. While repair was being done, I was walking around and, suddenly, I felt all the power of spring.

All around bloomed and fragrant ... Even the service workers.
Here is my adventure ...

Sort:

That one car looks super sci-fi crazy looking. Bet it cost the same price as a small island.

I think so. It was on the most costly streets of Milan. it's Monte Napoleone.
