Neuschwanstein Castle
The pearl of the German Alps
Neuschwanstein Castle (German: Schloss Neuschwanstein, pronounced [nɔʏˈʃvaːnʃtaɪn], English: "New Swanstone Castle") is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as a homage to Richard Wagner. Ludwig paid for the palace out of his personal fortune and by means of extensive borrowing, rather than Bavarian public funds.
The castle was intended as a home for the king, until he died in 1886. It was open to the public shortly after his death. Since then more than 61 million people have visited Neuschwanstein Castle. More than 1.3 million people visit annually, with as many as 6,000 per day in the summer.
Info from wikipedia
I was fortunate enough to visit this castle. It was late autumn but the alps were very beautiful at this time.
The castle Neuschweißen is amazing. Not surprisingly, Walt Disney took his outlines for his fairy-tale castle.
It is unfortunate that the quality of my photos of that time is not very good.
But take my word for it - it's worth to go and see this place. I came here from Italy by car. During this trip I crossed Switzerland and a little Austria.
The long way was rewarded with the magical spectacle of this place!

Yeah you got it! True it is a beautiful place. I also like the panorama of the picturesque castle. If you one day come back for a visit you have to go to the mountains as well.
I've heard so much about this castle, there's just so many places to go in this world....
