Lavender memories of Provence
Summer thoughts on a winter day
In the summer I managed to visit the Provence. South of France. It was very beautiful!
I had a task to look at the lavender fields.
I was very surprised and impressed. Before that, I saw lavender fields only in pictures.
These photos I made in the town of Sault. It is to the east of Avignon.
I would like to visit it again.
The official capital of lavender is the town of Saul in the department of Ot-Vaucluse. Its surroundings are a solid purple carpet, along which hiking routes are laid (they are marked with colored signs depending on the degree of complexity). August 15 in Sol is arranged a colorful holiday of lavender - the end of the season of its collection.
Also, lavender is a good place to admire in Drom-Provansal, but the landscapes here are more diverse - there are wheat and sunflower fields, as well as numerous vineyards.
