European trip after Steemfest. Border. Poland

in #travel6 years ago

Today is the hardest day of our trip. No, I did not have to dig the ground, or run a marathon)) Because the most difficult thing is waiting. But let's get everything in order.

We slept well in the city of Lodz and had breakfast at the hotel. When we left - it was already morning.

The city seemed to us half-abandoned and broken, but the people there were definitely there))

We drove on the autobahn, drove through Warsaw. It is rather strange to be immediately in the city and not in the city.

And we were approaching the border of Poland. The farther to the northeast, the colder it is. In some places you can even see the frost ...

And then we saw a queue of trucks ... about 6 km from the border. And after a couple of kilometers we got up.

At first we decided that we would try to negotiate with the queue. We went ahead, agreed with the drivers who were standing there ... arrived by car ... and then the border workers came up to us and "asked to return" to the end of the line. Imagine? That is, we didn’t touch them at all, even they missed our turn ... but they didn’t like it. At the airport, passengers with children up to three years old are allowed in ... and here they are not. Why?

We are back at the end of the line. Here we watched the sunset.

And we continued to stand in line.

When I wrote these lines, we spent more than six hours in a traffic jam, never reaching the border. And now imagine what happened to us if there was a two-year-old child in the car? We drew, played, poked all the buttons in the car and even watched cartoons ... Our nerves are on the edge.
Oh, and the worst thing, there is no toilet. Neither paid nor free ...

8 hours to cross the border ... unwrapped bags in the trunk ... and 300 km to the place where we can fall and sleep. We are in Minsk!

By the way, the border guards were very interested in my markers, my sketchbooks and watched the arts. On the one hand, it is pleasant, on the other - another delay in the journey.
