Adoration Monastery of our Lady, Hilongos Leyte

This day, I felt happy and refreshed! Wanna know why?

Earlier I had a chance to visit Adoration Monastery of our Lady located at the hills of Hilongos, Leyte.

It is approximately 12km away from the town proper. Road is not all smooth for some portions of it are not concrete. Quite far but if you reach the place, you will be amazed with what it offers before your eyes.

The main Chapel will welcome you as you enter the gate, lavishly adorned inside that contains a life-size image of Our Lady of Marangog that is said to be miraculous.

I wasn't able to take a picture of the inside of the chapel for there was a signage that says everyone who enters the chapel should avoid using cellphones, so as a sign of respect to Our Lady, I didn't took any pictures inside of it. I guess that will be for you to find out when you visit the place.

Near the chapel is the Marian Garden, a grassy area where you can find the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.

By continue walking along the cemented pathway that is slowly ascending, you will pass by the Stations of the Cross. Each station, you will see a concrete statue that illustrates Jesus' way of sorrows.

Here are some of those stations that will be seen along the pathway.

At the end of the pathway, you will be amazed as you see the structure that houses the outsized statue of Our Lady. Many people stops infront of this image as they deliver silently their prayers.

As you move forward you will see a castle-inspired structure. Few steps from the short stair, you will be astonished as you will see the small chapel that houses the oversized statue of Jesus Christ and a stutue of Our Lady of Guadalupe and San Faustina Kowalska. The chapel, just like the main chapel near the gate, is richly adorned. You may come inside and say your prayers before the statues. You will surely feel the holiness of the place.

Best part of this place aside from those chapels is the top most part of the castle-like structure where you can find statue of San Pedro Calungsod, San Francisco Javier, San Antonio Abad, and San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila. You can see the amazing top view of the place and the cold air breeze that you surely wouldn't want to exchange for anything!

This is a suitable place to ponder and a perfect place for reflection for its peaceful surrounding. Aside from peace, you can also observe the cleanliness of the place and you can really say that it is properly maintained. It also signifies that the visitors are disciplined enough for them to keep their trashes to designated areas. Additionally, visitors can also witness the magnificent view of the coastline of Hilongos, Leyte.

The place is open from 6am to 5pm. The good news here is that, you can enjoy everything that I said above for free! Yes, there is no entrance fee!
