Short trip to Starnberger Lake

It is really hot in Germany again. A strong heat wave spreading across Europe has hit Germany hard. It's really no fun working on this heat. It would be best to take a bath at a lake somewhere in the mountains.
This idea reminded me that we, my wife and I went to Lake Starnberg a couple of weeks ago. Lake Starnberg is not far from where we live, round about 30 minutes drive.

We were very close to the castle Seeburg. This castle was built in 1889 by Heinrich Theodor Höch, a man who left many traces in Munich. Maxvorstadt owes its current grid form to this man.
He had a large tract of land in the various districts of Munich. Nevertheless, he was gone broke three times. The third time he could not recover.
Today the castle is leased to a youth club.

Wir waren ganz nahe am Schloss Seeburg. Dieses Schloss wurde 1889 gebaut von Heinrich Theodor Höch, ein Mann der viele Spuren an München gelassen hat. Maxvorstadt hat seine heutige Form diesen Bauherrn zu verdanken.
Er hatte große Fläche an Land in die verschiedenen Stadtteile München. Trotzdem wurde er drei mal pleite. Das dritte mal konnte er sich nicht mehr erholen.
Heute ist das Schloss verpachtet an einem Jugend Verein.

Back to the journey. The water was warm, which is exceptional. It is probably due to the whole global warming, which is very bad.
My wife is not allowed to swim in the lake, so she has withdrawn herself into the shade because of the heat. After a few hours, we drove back home.

Zurück zu der Reise. Das Wasser war warm, was außergewöhnlich ist. Es liegt wohl an der ganzen Erderwärmung. Schade.
Meine Frau darf nicht ins Seen baden, darum hat sie sich ins Schatten zurückgezogen wegen der Hitze. Nach ein paar Stunden sind wir zurück nach Hause gefahren.

Yes, it is if you get lucky to catch a free spot. :)
There are some big lakes around where people sail or go on a cruise. We have been lucky to find a small quiet spot.
No wonder the place is sure beautiful and liked the Castle along with the beautiful scenario of the water !

Ist gar nicht so einfach, so eine ruhige Stelle am Starnberger See zu finden.
Das ist klar. Wir waren glücklich weil wir irgendwo neben dem Schloss geparkt haben und noch ein paar hundert Meter zu Fuß gegangen sind.
Schöner Ausflug. Da muss ich auch mal hin🤗
