Live our trip # 2: Stone Chapel “San Rafael de Mucuchies”, Mérida Venezuela

in #travel7 years ago

Hello everyone!

Continuing with this series of trips that I had the joy of living and the fortune of photographing, visiting with my wife Anais Venegas (@anaisvenegas) different towns and places of the State of Mérida, this time we took the Trans-Andean Highway, and we headed towards the town of “San Rafael de Mucuchies”, site where the Stone Chapel is located in honor of the Virgin of Coromoto, Patroness of Venezuela, is located via Mucuchies.

It is a beautiful chapel built entirely of stone, its residents say that it was built by hand by Mr. Juan Félix Sánchez, with the help of people from the town of San Rafael.

Inside the stone chapel is the altar, with images of Our Lady of Coromoto, St. Raphael Patron of the town, Our Lady of the Valley and the Venerable Dr. José Gregorio Hernández. Sometimes the chapel can be requested to celebrate weddings.

The mortal remains of Mr. Juan Félix Sánchez and his wife María Epifania del Carmen Gil are resting inside the chapel.

The surroundings of the stone chapel are beautiful places where you can photograph yourself with your family to immortalize your memories.

And the sight of stone chapel gives you charming images that look like postcards.

There are people around the Stone Chapel who sell handicrafts made by the same people of “San Rafael de Mucuchies”.

Along the trip along the trans-Andean road you will find beautiful landscapes, several places where you can park to eat, drink a hot drink or taste some sweet.

Later we will continue visiting the State of Merida, where you can enjoy landscapes such as “Pico el Águila”, “Páramo de la culata”, I will show you thematic parks such as “Venezuela de Antier”, “Los Aleros”, among others.
