Vacation Travelogue, Day 2: Washington to Montana.

in #travel6 years ago

As expected, Idaho was over before I even realized we'd entered. But then came Montana, which will take most of 2 days (including today) to cross. What a fucking grueling leg of the trip, and there's fuck all to see as well. What you're looking at above is about the full extent of it.

The cat mostly slept, butt poking out the carrier opening. She was feeling more antisocial than usual I guess. Lucky her, she's small enough that the car is like a moving house. She had plenty of room to stretch her legs, not that she availed herself of it. Then again if I could sleep through this part of the trip, I probably would.

The sunset was pretty at least. I only managed to catch the absolute tail end of it, as by the time I could find a place to safely stop the car and snap a photo, the sun was nearly below the horizon. Tomorrow I finally escape Montana and enter North Dakota where surely, fantastical adventures await. That's what North Dakota is known for, isn't it?

Stay Cozy!

Sort:

have fun..and be carefull bro

hehehe...at least you have stories to tell

Well, It looks like you have only four adventures waiting for you in North Dakota.

The Devils lake Monster

Only in the northeast

The local American Indians told the settlers stories of a great snake that lived beneath that lake, a serpent that instilled fear in those who saw it. According to a 1915 article in the Grand Forks Daily Herald, two well-known businessmen, a police captain, and the pastor of the local Methodist Episcopal Church, saw the Devils Lake Monster on different days, and at different points on the lake. Each gave a similar description. The creature was about two feet round, and about sixty feet long.

The Miniwashitu

In the late 1800s, a man wandering near the river saw an enormous creature rise from the water. Red hair, thick “like a buffalo” covered the beast. The monster had only one eye, and a single horn thrust from its forehead. Its backbone protruded, nocked like “an enormous saw.” Terrified, the man made it home before he passed out, and later died.

Bigfoot

I mean of course! This guy is everywhere.

These weren’t the first sightings of the creature in North Dakota. A man hunting said a “great ape” stalked him outside his mobile home in Minot, North Dakota. A newspaper clipping from 1908 also chronicles an encounter with Bigfoot.

Thunderbird

American Indian stories of these flying terrors across North America are similar. Thunderbirds can create storms, shoot lightning bolts, and have been known to eat pets – and children.

Keep an eye on that cat!
And be ready for adventure.

Great pictures mate.
The cats are always like this. They are proud animals, they do what they like

Was I right about how much fun about how much fun Montana would be. There's lots to see and nothing to block your view.

I guess you'd have no other than to sleep your way through a long journey. You could have brought your vr headset along tho. Maybe watch some movies...

Is quite unfortunate the journey is so long anyway don't you have stereo in the car, open up some country music to keep you occupied

@alexbeyman,
Awaiting to hear more news! Where are you sleeping? In motels or within Car? I am little curious!

Cheers~

I know this feeling. It’s like this never ending and boring story. I think your cat feels the same way. She can’t wait to pass Montana finally. I’m sure the mood will change once you reach your destination.
Drive safe!

That's great travel.. thanks for sharing this photograph.i like it this post.i appreciate your nature. thanks
