Sri Lanka - A Heaven on Earth

Hello wonderful people. This post is about my beautiful country Sri Lanka. A heaven on Earth. Don't believe because i say so. See for yourself.

Sri Lanka is one of the leading romantic destinations in the whole world. The land of serendipity brings spiritual tranquility and a chance to rediscover oneself. The beauty of this tiny island is simply breath-taking. Known for its enchanting ancient ruins, endless soft-sanded beaches, imposing mountains, colourful festivals, tempting water sports, dense wild-life, diverse ethnical groups and off the top hospitality from the local residents, Sri Lanka is bound to make you come back again. 

Sri Lanka is an island. It is called the Pearl of the Indian Ocean for its value. There are lots of beautiful beaches all over the country. Tourists from all over the world love the beaches here. They come here to feel the beauty, dive and also for dolphin and whale watching. More than 20 million tourists have visited Sri Lanka in the last year (2016).

My country has a proud history of more than 2500 years old. There are still a lot of remains of the great civilization. These places are also one of the main things tourists get attracted here. Our culture and heritage was built based on Buddhism. You can see a lot of ruins of ancient buildings and architecture are there to be amazed. Sigiriya rock fortress is an example for one of the greatest creations of our history and it had been named as the 8th wonder of the world for a long time.   

Beautiful beaches, ancient buildings and ruins are not only the things that get tourist attraction. The beautiful rainforests, wildlife, the peaceful and calm environment and the beautiful nature is the reason why it is called A Heaven on Earth. I think no other country has this much of beauty in one place.
