Canibad is a secret paradise in Samal Island. Now that it's very accessible from Davao City, Philippines. Anybody can get to experience this beautiul island life even just for a weekend. Budget-wise, it's very affordable:

Barge- P10.00
Habal-habal- P125.00
Overnight Entrance fee: P40.00
Tent fee- P100.00

HOW TO GET THERE

From Manila and Cebu, there are daily flights directly to Davao City, where Samal Island located.
From the airport, riding a multicab/jeepney going to Sasa Wharf is a complicated route unless you know the area and routes around the city. Better ride a taxi to make it easy, just tell the driver to drop you down at Sasa Wharf where you can ride a barge and ferry boats off to Samal Island.
The said wharf is the entry point to Samal Island for those who have car or motorbike with you. Where buses, trucks and other vehicles take a barge ride to the island. Fare per person is Php10 per one way while vehicles depend on the types you are bringing with.
Ferry boats are on the other side, the landmark is the overpass along the way. When you reach there just go inside the market till you reach the beach side where ferry boats park. The fare is Php12 per person per one way. Both drops down point are Babak in Samal.
From Babak, tricycle and motorcycle local name “habal-habal” are available for rent where from/to. depends on how far the place is. Usual fare per way is Php20 and around Php200 for the farthest place in Samal.
Basically, drivers from there ask you if you’re way off to Canibad, that’s how the place made really famous. It takes you 30-40mins to reach there and the fare is Php100 per way per person.
Note. make sure to book the driver for your return trip to Babak soon, because transportation is a bit lacking in these part of the island.
