Mud village of Abyaneh | Iran Solo Travel Journey #4
Dear Steemians,
Welcome to Abyaneh, one of the most beautiful mountain villages in Iran.
Abyaneh
Abyaneh is often referred to as the Red Village for its red mud brick houses and the surrounding mountains. Abyaneh is at least 1500 years old village and originating from the time of the Arab invasion, when many of the Zoroastrian followers fled to the mountains and deserts to escape forced conversion to Islam. Because of their isolation, the villagers speak a dialect of their own and wear traditional clothing.
This village is located in an isolated area , during winter time, it is not easily accessible as the whole area will be covered in snow, majority of the residents are more than 60 years old since younger generation move to bigger cities for education and work due to limited resources in the village.Currently there is no public bus and it is only reachable by car.
the old houses are build by those red mud/clay bricks.
Me and my two other travel mates slept inside one of those houses.
The next morning , we decided to take a walk to the hills near the village
After 15 min hike, we were greeted with 360 mountain range views
The front view was not bad either
After the hike, we had our morning tea at the only tea house in the village .The owner was so proud of his tea shop where he handmade everything by himself.
This is how the ladies wear in the village. They wear dress , and hair covered with floral hijab. Can you believe the outfit of these ladies are still on trend right now.
Saying goodbye to the village and off to the next destination - Isfahan. On a side note, this is not the car that we took , it was just a random car on the narrow streets , I wander how it got here.
Thank you for reading..Hope you enjoy it , remember to up-vote if you like it and leave a comment of what you think.

What an interesting village! The tea shop is especially quaint with its unique decor. Do they serve a choice of teas? Which tea is most popular in that region?

they only have one type , I think they call it smoked tea, it was made through smoke, which u can get from the taste of the tea. I hope it make sense.. :)
