How to use your Custom Google Maps OFFLINE/ without a phone signal - part 2
Dear steemians,
On my last post, I shared How to Create a Trip Itinerary Using Google Maps.. Link here
But this still require to a signal or wifi to access all your custom locations.
So here is the post on how to use it offline:
Step 1
Create your custom map using these instructions..
Step 2
Click on the icon with 3 vertical dots and click on “Export to KML”.
Step 3
A pop-up box should come up so you can save the file to your computer.
Don't tick anything , and download as .KMZ file to fully display all the icon images as you customized.
Step 4
Email the saved KMZ file to your personal email.
Step 5
Download the app “Maps PLUS” on your phone. I have read " MAPS.Me" works too.
Step 6
Open the email on your phone. Select the KMZ file attachment and open by using the apps option.Continue and download the map.
Step 7
To use, open your Maps PLUS application on your phone and go to user data to access your desired custom maps
Step 8
Select on the places that you want to access, and use" Select on MAp"
That is it guys,
Now you can use your custom maps offline, even on the plane mode.
I hope you find it useful. I can't test on andorid phone as I am using an iphone, but I am sure it will work the same.
