Athabasca Falls in Jasper, Alberta Canada
Athabasca Falls is another great stop in Jasper National Park. It is always a must stop location for us. We visited here on September 24, 2017 during our quick weekend visit to Jasper.
I appreciate the multi-stage adventure this stop brings as you can enjoy the falls and the Athabasca River from various view points. This is a great place to enjoy amazing natural rock "art" created from many years of water erosion.
I always marvel at the bright aqua colour of the water in Jasper. It is so fresh and clean.
The walkways down to the lower viewpoints descend between natural rock walls which are beautiful in themselves.
Several visitors to Athabasca Falls have placed several inukshuks at this view point. In history, inukshucks were intended to be markers placed for direction and used for navigation. It is the shape of a person and signifies safety, friendship and hope. Inukshuks are often seen as a symbol of Canada.
