Thoughts in flight

As I'm sat in my seat within the metal tube that's jetting me across to the east, I'm thinking about the world, this mad beautiful crazy world of ours!

In the years since I was born there have been huge changes, social, political, and environmental landscapes are different.
We have heated up by a few degrees, the middle East lies in ruin, forests are being torn down. (Some of the bad bits right there)
Many have been working to tackle these issues, environmental movements and anti war groups have been hard at work!

We got connected with the internet, information and ideas memes can spread like a virus,
a person in the poorest part of India could go viral with a message that could touch millions of people, now we carry this capability around in our pocket and consider such a surging of information and data to be normal.
We touch screens to complete all manner of different tasks.

So much is changing right now but who knows where we might be heading, with rapid adoption of technology, cryptocurrency and development of AI it feels like we are heading into the realms of sifi whilst at the same time many are reconnecting to the land practicing permaculture and walking in the sand, breathing life into local economies!

I feel like we are facing two different futures. . .
One a distopia where a central elite state keeps us imprisoned by long meaningless work, living in fear to step out of the grind or step out of line. where borders keep us from uniting and we lose all our cultural identity to quick fix pleasures and material gain.

This has no doubt been happening for a long time!

But the other side of this coin is also playing out and we are also reaching out to a utopia where we solve our food, housing and energy problems giving every person universal basic income, letting us focus on practicing art and philosophy deepening our connection with the earth and reconnecting with our spirit and becoming guardians of the planet. . . the way keeping the balance of nature.

I guess both worlds exit now and both can be the future and perhaps we are unlikely to see one become the whole future because without one there isn't the other, light and dark, yin and Yang . . .

One thing is clear we can choose where to put our energy and decide which vision to feed and which dream to dream!
Let's be kind, think globally act locally and help out our fellow earth dwellers when we can.
As I'm flying writing this I'm all to aware of my own imperfections and miscomings! But I have to trust the journey and believe that whatever I might experience now will inform and guide me in the future.

Going out to far away places in the world I hope I can find communities that I can be a positive part of, ones that are combining the best of the new world and the traditional, want to learn new skills and share what ones I have to offer. I'm going to carry on performing to make people smile and laugh and create moments that will be remembered for their authenticity and creativity.

Time to make new connections all around, experience the best of what the world is.
And at the end of it all I'll be bringing back a whole lot of energy and enthusiasm to the the little island I call home.

"It's seven am but twelve at night, soon I will be landing early morning late at night."
