A New Era In Transportation : Hyperloop One Successfully Tests Its Passenger Pod And Reaches Speeds Of 310 Kms/h.

A successfully concluded experiment which took place yesterday could herald a new dawn and the coming of a new era in transportation and mass transit as we know it now.

Around four years ago, Elon Musk had published his plans for a tubular transportation system in vacuum. The idea was taken up by a company, Hyperloop one, which conducted the experiment yesterday.

Shervin Pishevar, Executive Chairman and Co-founder of Hyperloop One, in a statement yesterday said:

This is the beginning and the dawn of a new era of transportation. We’ve reached historic speeds of 310 km an hour and we’re excited to finally show the world the ‘XP-1’ going into the Hyperloop One tube. When you hear the sound of the Hyperloop One, you hear the sound of the future

The idea indeed sounds exciting, as if it really takes off, you can expect to travel at supersonic speeds, on passenger pods which levitate and move in a vacuum, reducing the drag introduced by friction!

At these speeds, the world will be a smaller place. And if we could do away with all the territorial bullshit and the endless bureaucracy we have to endure to travel the world, we could expect a world more spiritually aligned with each other than we are now.

So watch this space in the future!

The future of travel - Thanks for posting.
I was watching the business news this afternoon and there was an interview about this same discovery. The interview was with an Asian scientist and it was very hard to understand him - no subtitles... I meant to dig deeper into the subject but totally forgot about it.
Thanks for the reminder :P

You are welcome!

That's quite a bob-sled!!!

Lol, it is! :)

In the near future it might be possible to use the hyperloop to travel to outer space. The future is now :)

Hmm, a tube to the moon? Sounds interesting but maybe in a few hundred years :)

not to the moon, just to the edge of space :)
