Philippines Folk Music that Mark from Birth to Death of the Filipino's.....

in #traditional8 years ago (edited)

Philippine music is rich in folk songs, ethnic songs and indigenous musical instruments (my previous post titled "Philippines Traditional Music Instrument...."). Because of the contributions and influences of the Spaniards, American and the Japanese, the Philippines experienced vast changes in musical development.

(T'boli Ethnic Group)

As the drumming music plays, a T'boli woman joins in traditional dance, the bells on her ethnic garb jingling along the music.

The people had the initiative of playing a variety of musical instruments including flutes, nose flutes and guitars.

(Lantoy/Tongali)
They performed appropriate songs and dances through the celebration of courtship, marriage, harvest season and other occasions. Many of these songs and dances are accompanied by musical instruments or interpreted by different dance troupes and singing groups.

(Every year in the Cordillera mountains of Luzon a ritual is held to celebrate the end of the rice harvest season)
Various Philippines folk songs are sung on various occasions, rituals and festivities. Here the example. (Videos)
