Before I talk about the best trading system I've made to date, let's first understand these facts about the general "trading robot" you find online...

Most FOREX trading systems are terrible and cannot be trusted:

• Over fitted to a particular price behavior
• Over fitted to a specific symbol
• Only a few out of hundreds or thousands of settings are profitable and only in back testing
• All of the robots that claim to make millions or billions in the strategy tester in a few years fail: proven by the fact MQL5.com has been online for 10 years with public trading signals, and this type of profit has literally never been shown in a signal, and that all such systems eventually disappear from the marketplace

Over fitting is a huge problem. Its like if you programmed a machine to drive along a tight and winding road, turning perfectly at all the right turns, which were known ahead of time; you could optimize that machine to go as fast as possible down that road, back and forth, delivering you resources or profit or whatever it's job is.

The problem is that doesn't work in trading. Put that machine in another valley and it will crash. This year's price behavior of any market and this year's winning robot settings for that price behavior will certainly be different enough next year to yield much worse results.

Developers find the best settings over a back test period, apply exponential money management to settings known to have a high win rate, and fool you into believing you can earn millions with a system. The odds of this succeeding in real life is so low you should assume it will never work, even if there are a few lucky exceptions.

Give it a try. Head over to https://www.mql5.com, download some demo trading systems to the MetaTrader 5 platform. Test their best settings for one symbol on all other FOREX symbols. Do full optimizations testing a range of settings in the inputs. And see a few settings win per hundred or thousand, historically. I have been doing this for around a decade and am so confused why people still don't understand this.
