You did nail the BTC pullback. The question is will it stop soon or go lower. I am now seeing forecasts of $6,000.
As for STEEM, it will be interesting to see how things take off. I agree with you about that price jumping based upon the testnet and some publicity. While I can see the dump, this could be something different. I can see SMTs actually delivering users, coupled with the RC pool, might actually provide the level of support needed to keep the price up.
Of course, the alt coin market in general is going to play a part in it all as usual.
The 6k predictions are out of line. In my opinion, 6k is the lowest Bitcoin can go, but there hasn't been high enough volatility on the upside to justify crashing to rock bottom.
Using my doubling-per-year metric, Bitcoin could crash to $5600, however to get there would have taken a bigger bubble than what we ended up with. Normally when Bitcoin crashes to the baseline it's lost 85% of it's value because it was so overwhelmingly bubbled. We are in a totally different market at the moment.
